Art Deco

This month's Sam’s Bead Box is architecture of the Art Deco era with its beautiful lines, geometric patterns, and refined ornamentation. Think Chrysler building in NYC or the Eastern Columbia building in LA. Now a century after its start, the style seems to be in vogue once more. Sam and Rachel have long been drawn to Art Deco architecture and challenged themselves to dream up a box inspired by the 20s design style. They started by looking at jewelry of the era, which was rich with sparkling diamonds and filigree. They were delighted to find Czech shapes such as the Deco Fan and Deco Ovals that felt perfect for the theme. While there aren’t diamonds in their latest bead box, they are featuring glamorous elements including faceted amethyst cubes, fire polish drops, a sparkling TierraCast button, and a geometric Nunn Design focal.
